A renowned figure in STEM education and renewable-energy advancement, Barbara has spent her career bridging innovation, academia, and real-world impact.
Barbara is a former university professor of engineering and physics, where she led major research initiatives, mentored emerging scientists, and partnered on national and international programs focused on sustainable energy and community development. She has contributed to engineering collaborations through organizations such as the Fulbright Specialist Program, providing renewable-energy training and development across multiple countries.
Her leadership extends to hands-on renewable energy innovation, having partnered with the We Care Solar program to help deploy solar suitcases to health facilities worldwide. Her teams have supported students in assembling solar systems used across Africa and Southeast Asia, strengthening global access to clean and reliable power.
